Throughout the Presentation Editor there are settings which allow for placeholders.  A placeholder is an instruction for the software to use a value from a user entry or data field, according to whatever the value is at that time.  For example, the customer’s name needs to be displayed according to whatever customer the user has selected to view, therefore use a placeholder which represents the field where the value is stored and substitutes this dynamically.

The Placeholder builder will appear with drop-down offering available sources.

	The first drop-down is for the type of placeholder and so offers a list of the panels contained within the presentation, plus any user entries. Select as required.
	The second drop down is context sensitive and so will then populate according to the first selection. It is a list of the fields in the selected panel or in the user entry list.

The selections are converted into code (which can also be typed in manually instead of using the builder). For a panel field it is in the format:

For user entries it is simply the user entry’s id surrounded by ## (e.g. #ClientId#).

Note:  Placeholders are case sensitive.
