Throughout the Presentation Editor there are options to specify parameters. A parameter is a piece of information (the value) needed to define a result.

For instance, if a link has been inserted which will open a separate presentation, then this second presentation will probably require a user entry. For example, a product number so that the presentation gathers data relating to that particular product only. Therefore the parameter needed to open this link is the product number.

It is necessary to specify where this value is located. However, it won’t be a single product number, it will be the name of the field that contains the product number value (a placeholder), as this will differ according to what the user has specified. A parameter builder function will assist through this process.
