fData is installed by using the setup program supplied to install fData to a location of your choice, and can be installed on a per-user (Only for me) or per-computer (Anyone who use this computer) basis.

Once the setup program has been started, please follow the standard on-screen prompts to install the software.

Once installed, fData may also be opened via the Windows Start Menu. A shortcut will be available within the “fSeries” folder.

fData may be uninstalled through the Windows Control Panel once it has been installed onto the machine.

Installing Data Group Type Plugins

Data Groups have various types, such as SQL, Microsoft CRM, ClearCore, and others. Often, a developer of a Data Group type will provide a plugin that allows fData users to manage the data group via a user interface, built into fData.

The plugin developer will usually provide an installation file to place the plugin (which is a DLL file) into a folder available for picking up by fData. If the installation file is unavailable, the plugin may be placed directly into the Plugins folder, which is located at %appdata%\fSeries\Plugins. Plugins may also be removed from this folder when no longer required.
